Before purchasing the SG3.5 I was using the SG4. I cannot say how much better the SG3.5 is than the SG4! Everything about the SG3.5 is better than the SG4. The SG3.5 takes 3 AAA batteries which is better than the rechargeable SG4. The SG3.5 has a modern USB connector compared to the mickey mouse connector found on the SG4; the SG4 has a little itsy bitsy screw to make the USB connection that from what I have read strips out easily and is a pain to even get screwed in.
